At Art.Fair 2016 in Cologne the painting 15-9-7 was executed at the stand of Galerie m beck, Homburg on the Saar. This performance was part of the Plain White Canvas event and took place on the opening day of the fair, 26 October 2016. The work 15-9-7 had been prepared for more than a year in colour studies and drafts. The execution at the trade fair began in the morning during the final stand erection phase, continued in the afternoon during the preview, and was completed in the evening during the vernissage.
The concept of Plain White Canvas is that the production, not the product, determines the gallery’s presentation. At the start of the trade fair, the gallery displays only white canvases, which are then painted day by day. Two artists are engaged in their work in parallel each day. On the day when the work is made, the process of creation is thus exhibited. In the following days the completed work is exhibited. Thus the exhibition grows at the trade fair day by day, starting from nothing, and is complete when the fair ends.
