An exhibition of the Stade Kunstverein in the historical sluice house in Stade: The sluice house, built at a haven in 1878, was originally the living quarters of the sluice keeper. The original structure has been maintained with a few minor renovations. The rooms have a life and story of their own and offer an epic aspect. The painting ties in at this instance and attempts to unlock the epic moments of these rooms. The title of the exhibition, “The Epic Dimension of Color”, suggests a particular potential in which the epic of color and color association continues into the architecture and allows the enigma of the rooms to speak for themselves. The exhibition comprises of 32 pictures, originating from the years 2002 to 2006, which are on display from 5 - 26 October 2008. The following pictures document the hanging, the opening and not least the impression of the exhibition in the changing daylight.
